There's no time to "blog" today. We just adopted a 5 year old collie-german shepherd, so we're spending the day with her.
Senior Citizens will be the Sacrificial Lambs
As we try to digest all that is swirling around about Obama's government-run healthcare plan, one thing appears to be consistent. SENIOR CITIZENS WILL BE THE SACRIFICIAL LAMBS. I know I am oversimplifying the issue, but I just don't understand why it's O.K. to spend our tax dollars on healthcare for illegal immigrants, while reducing care to our own senior citizens. Surely enthanasia of seniors (for the common good, of course), and the future votes of illegals wouldn't have anything to do with it...or would it?
Will Obama's healthcare plan be a "CLUNKER" too?
If you've had the radio or T.V. on today, "Cash for Clunkers" is nothing new to you. Briefly, this is a government (taxpayer) rebate program to help people purchase qualifying new cars by turning in their own qualifying "clunker". It is quite clear that the legislators who designed the incentive program definitely made a FEW MISCALCULATIONS. The program which was supposed to run for four months was OUT OF MONEY after only 4 days. Brilliant! (More taxpayer funding is under discussion.)
We share the letter we FAXED to our Legislators today
Today as I thought about what to write, I felt overwhelmed by the sheer number of subjects flashing "urgent, urgent". Finally, I let it go for a while. Then later this afternoon my husband and I decided to FAX our legislators again to voice our concerns about the government-run health care proposal. We ended up sending the following, which we now share with you:
GOVERNMENT MANDATED HEALTHCARE IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL says Marine Corps Veteran Sgt. Paul Curtman
On Fox and Friends this morning, along with an interview of Marine Corps Veteran Sgt. Paul Curtman, they showed a clip of a townhall meeting in St.Louis on the government health care proposal. It was sponsored by Senator Claire McCaskill(D-MO). At the meeting, Paul Curtman, who later received a standing ovation from approximately 1000 attendees, stood up to say that the GOVERNMENT MANDATED HEALTHCARE IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
It's not just the issue of healthcare, but how it will control our lives
It's getting harder and harder to decide what to talk about each day. The profusion of issues and the importance of each makes it nearly impossible to prioritize. I'll stay with healthcare since the vote will be coming up very soon, and I believe that defeating the government health care plan is of utmost importance. It's not just the issue of healthcare, but how it will control our lives.
"Pulsating mass of Maggots"
On Friday, 7/24/09, I read an article titled, "Ghoulish Science + Obamacare = Health Hazard" by Michelle Malkin who talks about Obama's new science CZAR, John Holdren. (I am using some of her words here.) Holdren credits Harrison Brown, an advocate of forced abortion, with inspiring him to become a scientist.
Is this patient worth it?
Earlier this week I expressed some of my concerns about Obama's proposed health care plan. Along with my fear that we will all be subjected to substandard care, I conveyed to you that I felt the elderly and tnose who need special care will be the real victims here. And sadly, deep down, I believe that the demise of these groups is intentional. If I remember history correctly, This is just what Hitler did.
"You're going to destroy my presidency."
Recently Senator James DeMint (R-SC), referring to the president's new health care plan, said "this reform could be Obama's Waterloo".
And yesterday, Senator Charles Grassley, (R)Iowa told of an exchange he had last week with a Democrat Congressman regarding the president's health care plan. Said Grassley, "He told me after a conversation with the president that the president had trouble in the House of Representatives, and it wasn't going to pass if there weren't some changes made...and the president says, "You're going to destroy my presidency".
Is it up to government to determine the value of life?
The more I hear and read about Washington's new government health care program, the more I am sure it's not right for America. Along with my belief that we will all be subjected to substandard health care, I am very concerned that the senior citizens and those who need special care will become the major victims of this program. I fear they will be denied care or rationed care because some government bureaucrat determines they are expendable. And what about the unborn?
